Mission Bay, San Francisco
Mission Bay, together with is adjoining South Beach neighbor is one of San Francisco's fastest growing neighborhoods. Roughly bounded by Townsend Street and 7th Street, Mission Bay was created by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors as a redevelopment project. Much of the land was a rail yard but now has rapidly evolved into a young, wealthy neighborhood of luxury condominiums, artsy lofts and high-end apartment buildings. Along with the residential component (a planned 6,000 units total), the Mission Bay neighborhood has the convenience of urban living at its fingertips.
Home to beautiful AT&T Ball Park, game days around the neighborhood are a bustle with excitement and activity. Outside of game day there is plenty to do with gourmet restaurants, trendy bars, spas and services and Safeway and Borders bookstore anchoring retail in this neighborhood. And with its convenience to CalTrain, you can easily commute down the Peninsula to work and still call San Francisco home.
